The Brine Town of Droitwich Spa has had various football teams for many years playing under different names.
Droitwich Spa Football Club's senior side was formed in 1985 and played in the Worcester Leagues until gaining promotion at the end of 1999/00 season to Midland Combination Division 2. The club earned a credible 7th placed finish in their 1st season in Midland Combination Division 2 in 2000/01.
The Spa gained promotion after 7 seasons of playing in Division 2, and a 3rd placed finish meant Division 1 football in 2007/08.
New dugouts were erected and some paving around the pitch along with our small covered stand ensured King George's was up to Division 1 standards.
A runner's up medal in the Worcester Junior Cup and an 11th placed finish in our 1st season in Division 1 is the highest ever position in the football pyramid any side from Droitwich Spa has acheived.
In 2008/09 the club finished a mediocre 12th in the league, and reached the Semi Finals in both the Worcestershire Junior Cup & The President's Cup, and will look to use this as a spring board to push on over the coming seasons.
